In early 2018, a group of visionary researchers and practitioners recognized a widening gap between rapidly advancing technologies and traditional educational methods. Supported by STARTINFORUM International Project Management (Türkiye), IATELS was established.
The association’s first major milestone was the launch of the PATME Conference (Pedagogical Advances in Technology-Mediated Education) in Istanbul. This inaugural event set the tone for the future: a multidisciplinary space where computer scientists, linguists, and educators could speak the same language.

Following its initial success, IATELS expanded its portfolio to address the “Human Factor” in technology.

2019: The introduction of the APBM (Applied Psychology and Business Management) and ICLTE (Language Studies, Translation and Education) conferences.

The Global Shift: When the 2020 global pandemic disrupted traditional education, IATELS was already prepared. The association became a pioneer in Virtual Mobility, transitioning its entire network to high-impact digital platforms, ensuring that international research did not stop when the world did.
- English IATELS Boost: English IATELS as a structural unit of IATELS developed and shaped ite methodology of online teaching and worked internationally to develop English communicative skills of students and professionals.

During this period, IATELS solidified its reputation as a “Reliable Partner.”

Strategic Alliances: Partnerships were formalized with prestigious institutions such as MIT World Peace University (India), Curtin University (Australia), Galgotias University (India).

Publication Excellence: The association moved beyond events to become a knowledge hub, publishing over 25 volumes of Abstract Books, Proceedings, and thematic Monographs, providing a vital platform for researchers to gain international citations and visibility.

As we entered 2025, IATELS underwent a strategic rebranding of its flagship events. ICPATME evolved into ICET (International Conference on Education and Technology), reflecting a deeper focus on AI Orchestration and Digital Sovereignty.
Today, in 2026, IATELS stands as a diverse community representing over 35 countries. We have moved from being an “association of events” to an “association of impact,” offering comprehensive certification services that allow professionals from Europe to Asia to validate their skills in seven different languages.

Foundation – 2018
In 2018, STARTINFORUM recognized a critical need for an agile, multidisciplinary platform that could keep pace with the digital transformation of education.
Referring to the academic and professional experience of our Board Members, we laid the groundwork for IATELS.
We provided the initial administrative, logistical, and financial sponsorship required to launch the first PATME conference in Istanbul, effectively acting as the incubator for what would become a premier international association.
