2020 was a difficult year when all conferences which had been planned in the traditional mode had to be cancelled due to the global lockdown or to be transferred to the online mode.
To support the international discourse in the framework of our conferences PATME – International Conference on Pedagogical Advances in Technology-Mediated Education , LASTE – International Conference on Language Studies, Translation and Education and later on APBM – International Conference on Applied Psychology and Business Management all the events were transferred to the online mode. APBM 2020 was held in the blended mode, though most of the participants joined the conference in the remote mode.
All our online conferences in 2020 were a success embracing the participants from various countries and academic background though it was noticed and also reported by many of the academicians that the traditional formal of the conferences remains to be preferred – while in the online conferences the academicians are able to join any conference in any part of the world, the traditional conference provides more opportunities for personal interaction, deeper acquaintance and, therefore, more reliable opportunities for collaboration, country and culture explorations, rich personal experiences.
We continue to witness the lockdowns in different countries and continents. It means that we will continue experiencing difficulties in travelling and trips.
Considering the circumstances we are going to discuss the plans for our 2021 conferences to organise them in online format with the possibilities of in-person participation depending on the changing world conditions.
The updates about the exact dates and venues of IATELS Conferences are going to be announced soon at this page and the conferences official websites.
