International Academic Partnership: Challenges and Perspectives

Working internationally is an exciting mission which brings many returns in terms of meeting many interesting people, learning cultures, finding out more about local ways of education, administration, management, possibilities for setting new projects and collaboration frameworks.

On the way of exploring this mission, we are very happy to see that IATELS receives more and more of high appreciation from universities and schools, different types of educational institutions, business companies and academicians internationally.

The services provided by IATELS in the fields of education, training, organising conferences, publishing books and academic papers, doing research nationally and internationally, developing projects according to the needs of different types of institutions are the value which has been positively estimated by all our partners and members from different countries.

Under the umbrella of collaboration with IATELS, the institutions receive courses and training which are in need for their academicians and students, boost their academic skills and learn to collaborate in an international environment.

With IATELS, academicians and students have a chance to join international community of their colleagues and learn from their peers. They acquire new norms of intercultural communication and collaboration.

They learn and shape their skills of academic presentation, interaction in international academic community, develop their academic writing skills till the level of confident writing an internationally acceptable paper or a book.

Broadening horizons of institutions by bringing them to international academic community helps to upgrade their overall academic level for teaching standards, presentation skills, communication and presentability at the international market of educational services.

All of these skills pave a way to a higher level of academic culture, recognition among other educational establishments internationally, quality standards and international studentship.

While working with the institutions from different countries, we see how different the academic culture is in different parts of the world.

The difference is not only in the cultural background and financial status, but also in terms of communication manners, attitudes toward timings and obligations, priorities and strategies of coping with the challenges, ways of administrative solutions and so on.

The more culturally embedded the institution, the bigger the gap between their standards and approaches and those which are in the circles of international educational establishments.

The difference can be in the smallest things but they are very much crucial for success of communication, collaboration and reaching goals internationally.

Starting from timing, punctuality about meetings and arrangements and including the styles of coping with the expectations, keeping promises and giving sufficient attention to the plans and issues which may pop up on the way of the project development and its implementation, – all of these comprise the whole atmosphere of the relations and, as a result, define the success of the collaboration.

Seeing all these differences while working with institutions from different countries, it becomes clear which skills should be trained to bring the academicians and students to a higher level of their professional development and, consequently, raise the level of the overall academic culture of the organisation.

Speaking about the students, while making them acquire a new system of norms based on the international standards of work quality, management, attitudes and responsibilities, we contribute to enhancing the reputation of the institution at the labour market.

Together with that, it makes the institution more attractive for future generations of learners nationally and internationally who are seeking the opportunities of more promising employment at the international level.
