We are getting ready for our VII International Conference on Education and Technology ICPATME 2025 with Curtin University (Perth, Australia)<\/strong> <\/a>as the leading organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a booming trend of exploring AI and its implementation in education at all levels, the special topic of ICPATME 2025<\/a><\/strong> is AI in Education and Learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these plans and visions in mind, the Conference Organising Committee invited the speakers and researchers who are working in the field of educational technologies, developing new learning methodologies and approaches, and namely those who are focussing on AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this respect, it is our pleasure to highlight the speech of Prof. Dr. Piet Kommers, UNESCO Professor on Learning Technologies (Emeritus University of Twente, The Netherlands)<\/strong><\/a> who is going to present at the conference and share his visions on AI and STEAM education as an innovative methodology in school education and a breakthrough in integrative learning and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI and STEAM for a More Active Learning<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Since the late eighties, education has confronted the meandering derivatives of ICT: social media, online simulations and games, 3D fictitious worlds, and, more recently, the rapidly expanding family of AI applications. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, a recent didactic\/pedagogical innovation framework has been announced: STEAM, which integrates curricular disciplines like science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its goal is to provide explicit stimuli to learners and students to undertake problem-solving challenges that require creative thinking and, most importantly, the courage to combine knowledge, skills, and intuition in ways not covered in direct instruction. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This keynote provides you with tools and methods for conceptual thinking, further articulation of various metacognition, activation of your prior knowledge, and awareness of its structure. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially when AI tools enter the study room, learners need a heightened awareness of epistemology and ontologies in open problem-solving tasks. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
